Pacific Fresh Food Market is currently hiring an Information Systems Manager for its Pickering location.

One of the premier Chinese supermarkets in the Pickering area, Pacific Fresh Food Market offers customers over 10,000 different food and grocery items to choose from, all available in a bright, clean, and well-organized space. Always fresh-in-stock items include fresh fruit, produce, meats, and plates of seafood. We also offer frozen and packaged foods, snacks, and drinks, while bakery goods and ready-to-eat foods are always prepared fresh daily.

We’re currently looking for an Information Systems Manager to join our growing team to oversee our Pickering store’s IT and e-commerce systems, including our online shopping website, mobile shopping app, and internal grocery management system.

Store location: 1300 Kingston Rd, Pickering, ON L1V 3M9

Offered salary: $97,000/year, for 35 hours/week

Employment terms: Permanent, Full-time

Job duties:

-Provide leadership and technical insights to programmers, testers and other internal team members responsible for the development and upgrade for the Pacific Fresh Food Market’s online shopping platform;

-Constantly monitor, direct and evaluate Pacific Fresh Food Market’s shopping and internal management systems, and identify new technologies, proposing methods for system improvements with an eye to a long-term technology integration roadmap;

-Oversee the entire refining and continuously developing process on Pacific Fresh Food Market’s mobile shopping app, ensure compatibility and smooth operations for both iOS and Android operating systems;

-Plan and implement proper security protocols to ensure safeguarding customer information databases, as well as product databases, including our e-commerce platform and mobile shopping app are in synchronicity with our comprehensive database in the products, inventory, and pricing information;

-Consult with team member across departments and discuss with senior management to implement systems maintenance timelines, upgrades plugins and systems specifications as needed for automation, real-time inventory tracking and information sharing throughout all grocery processes, in particular between the online e-commerce platform, mobile shopping app, and internal grocery management system;

-Oversee and report on regular systems maintenance and updates by allocating team resources, ensure our internal grocery management system is optimized as intended to automate operations processes, including planograms, internal inventory movement, product data, sales, fulfilment, warehousing, and stock replenish schedules;

-Control and manage the department expenditures in systems upgrades to ensure projected system maintenance can be attained by milestone within the proposed budget;

-Provide training and technology expertise as needed, recruit team members and report to General Manager.

Education & Experience Requirements:

-Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems or related field;

-A minimum of 10-15 years of related work experience and strong technical aptitude in software testing, information system implementation and IT development in web and database applications;

-A minimum of 5-7 years of management experience in a fast-paced and demanding working condition, specialized in managing complex system design and configuration;

-Proven information system management ability and experience in delivering at least 2-3 development projects with data analysis and database management tools;

-Fluency in spoken and written Mandarin is required for our internal communication efficiency to ensure proper documentation on requirements planning, overall analysis and reporting to various department heads and senior management.

Technical Qualifications:

-Comprehensive skill-set with website development, including HTML, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript;

-Able to lead a team to develop both iOS and Android applications;

-In-depth knowledge in backend development, including Java, SQL, Python, MySQL and programming languages to derive system insights;

-Expert knowledge with deploying and managing servers.
